The Chicago PD Season 7 finale certainly left us on an ominous note. There are all sorts of questions for Chicago PD Season 8. Here are the five biggest.

During the Chicago PD Season 7 finale, Kevin Atwater had a huge decision to make. Did he tell the truth about one cop’s racism leading to his own death or did he cover it all up? In the end, he chose to tell the truth, and it will have a huge knock-on effect during Chicago PD Season 8.

This isn’t just some ending that can be swept under the rug. Tom Doyle’s friends and family are out for revenge. Atwater is in the direct firing line, and he could take the whole of Intelligence down with him.

Of course, with three seasons confirmed, it’s unlikely the whole of Intelligence will be taken down. But Kevin Atwater could end up being written out. Considering the exit storylines we’ve had on Chicago Med and Chicago Fire, don’t assume a series regular is safe going into the new season.

But with all that being said, there are some major questions for Chicago PD Season 8. Here are my five biggest.

5. Will Ray Price return to help Atwater?

Getting Wendell Pierce back for the Chicago PD Season 7 finale was certainly an excellent move. Ray Price’s character has routinely been intriguing and thought-provoking. It made sense for Atwater to turn to him for advice. Not only was he getting it from a disgraced politician but also a black man.

Telling the truth isn’t easy. Trying to change the way of the police force takes guts. Atwater has them, but will Ray Price take a step back now? Will Price help guide Atwater? After all, Price didn’t specifically tell Atwater to tell the truth, but I get the feeling he’ll be proud of Atwater for the decision made.
