Judgment with Ashleigh Banfield premieres tonight on Court TV.
The show will focus on some of the United States’ most high-profile criminal trials. According to the press release, it’s going to feature “brand new interviews and exclusive first-time reveals.”
Sunday’s series premiere is about the Casey Anthony case. Other episodes in the first season are going to cover the trials of Amber Guyger, Jodi Arias and O.J. Simpson.
It will be intriguing to see what Judgment actually adds to the discussion, because all of these stories were covered extensively at the time they happened and have been thoroughly featured in the media since.
A clip from Amber Guyger’s court proceedings was recently used in Court Cam season 2. Casey Anthony’s trial was debated by Dan Abrams and Nancy Grace in Grace vs. Abrams two years ago.
And Court TV has already enlisted Roger Cossack to do an exhaustive look into the O.J. Simpson double murder trial with OJ25, which has become one of the network’s most interesting shows. How will Banfield cover this well-traveled territory?
She’s right back in her element working for this particular network again, though, and with a full lineup of people to interview, this is worth a look for any true crime enthusiast who wants to go back to these trials that at one point or another all captivated the nation.
Banfield was an original member of the Court TV lineup and has also worked for CNN and A&E; she most recently hosted Live Rescue season 1 before being succeeded on the Live PD spinoff by Matt Iseman.
