Is Power Book II: Ghost new tonight, October 11?
Is Power Book II: Ghost new tonight, October 11? TV crime drama fans may be wondering is Power Book II: Ghost on tonight given the way that the Starz series ended last Sunday, and we have all the information you need in that respect.
The spinoff has been a massive hit for Starz since it premiered last month, tracking the further adventures of Tariq St. Patrick (played by Michael Rainey Jr.) as he strives to establish himself as a major player in the drug game that his father left behind.
Plus, Tariq must save his mother Tasha (a returning Naturi Naughton) from being convicted of his dad’s murder—which is a little hard to do when he’s the one who actually committed the crime.
The bad news for Power fans, though, is that the show is not new tonight. Last week’s episode “The Gift of the Magi” was intended as a midseason finale. Starz only ordered ten installments for the first season, and the network is making the most of them by splitting them into two parts. It’ll be a while before audiences see Tariq and his new associates again.
Furthermore the show isn’t even on this week. In place of the spinoff the network is doing a marathon of another original series, The Spanish Princess, which could not be more different from the Power universe. It stars Charlotte Hope (Game of Thrones) as Catherine of Aragon.
But while the answer to “Is Power Book II: Ghost new tonight?” is unfortunately no, there is still hope for fans out there. All five episodes that have already aired are still available on the Starz app or wherever you have your subscription. So you can create your own marathon, or catch up now before the second half of the season airs.
There’s no need to worry about the future, either; the show has already been renewed for a second season, presumably to air sometime in 2021.
The renewal would imply that Tariq survives all of the many, many problems that are about to come his way—but that doesn’t mean he’s out of the woods yet. Sit back, relax and watch from the beginning while you wait for his next chapter. (Not to mention the other three spinoffs that are in the works.)
