What’s next for Deeks if he fails FLETC on NCIS: Los Angeles?

Deeks isn’t doing too great at FLETC on NCIS: Los Angeles

Poor Deeks just can’t catch a break. He loses his position as LAPD liaison to NCIS and he has to have a few people fight in his corner to get into FLETC in the first place. On NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12, Episode 8, we watched him struggle to keep up.

Now granted, all the people at FLETC are much younger than him. He’s the oldest candidate FLETC has ever had, but they’re not going to go easy on him. He needs to pass everything just like a younger, newer recruit would.

And right now, he’s got nobody in his corner at FLETC. He’s struggling, and it’s not like anyone back at NCIS can help him. Kensi can listen and offer a few tips, but she can’t physically help him do this.

So, he needs to figure it out for himself. He may also need to think about a Plan B.

What could Deeks do if he doesn’t become an NCIS agent?

Something I tell a lot of my writing students is not to put all their eggs into one basket. When I was younger, I learned quickly not to have one plan in life. You have no control over some aspects of life, so you need to make sure you have a Plan B, Plan C, Plan D, and I’m sure you know how the alphabet works.

Deeks doesn’t have that, though. He made it clear to Sam back in NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12, Episode 7 that this is his last shot. Everything is riding on becoming an NCIS agent.

But he’s floundering.

What can he do if he doesn’t get through FLETC?

I don’t think we’ll see that. Something is going to give him the push he needs to succeed. This is time for him to start taking life a little more seriously. His comedy is a defense mechanism but it’s doing him no favors right now.

He needs to buckle down and prove that he belongs here. We know he’s a good detective. He can be a good agent. He just needs to prove it.
