Why won’t Chicago PD Season 8, Episode 4 air on Jan. 20?
Chicago PD Season 8 returned in January a week later than initially expected. The intention was to air Episode 4 last week, but now it won’t air until Jan. 27. What’s going on with the NBC schedule?
There isn’t a new episode of Chicago PD Season 8 tonight. There isn’t even going to be a rerun. There’s a very good reason for this, though.
Jan. 20 is the Presidential Inauguration. The world will see Joe Biden sworn in as the 46th President of the United States.
There is simply no way any big network would not air coverage of this moment. The CW has new episodes of TV shows, but it has the ability to risk the lower ratings for those tuning in to see a new president sworn in. NBC wouldn’t not cover the moment.
When will Chicago PD Season 8, Episode 4 air?
Instead, we’re waiting until Wednesday, Jan. 27 for a new episode of Chicago PD. This is the case for all three One Chicago shows.
We do get a look at what to expect already. Intelligence will be pulled into the investigation of a murdered cop. It turns out someone had a grudge against the officer and suspicion falls on that person.
Can Intelligence figure out the case? Was it the person who had the grudge?
It’s not going to be easy to figure out the case. Deputy Superintendent Samantha Miller is back. You know she’s trying to make some good changes to the force, but she doesn’t always go about them the right way just yet. It’s a balancing act.
In this episode, she wants to gather as much information about the murdered cop and the suspect before defending anyone.
Who is the suspect? Who is the murdered cop? Could this have something to do with Atwater’s storyline, which clearly isn’t over?
We’ll get to find out what that’s all about in a week.
Chicago PD Season 8, Episode 4 airs on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 10/9c on NBC. Catch up the following day on Hulu.
