Friday nights are all about the mystery that is Raymond “Red” Reddington. What’s going on tonight? Is The Blacklist on tonight, Friday, June 11?
There isn’t a new episode of The Blacklist tonight. We’re waiting a little longer for the penultimate episode, but it’s important to note that it won’t air next Friday. NBC is making a few changes to its schedule, especially as the Tokyo Olympic Games kick off.
Tonight, we’re not even getting a rerun. Instead, Minions will air in the usual timeslot with Dateline airing at 10/9c.
It’s not clear why this is happening. It does seem odd to delay the new episode until Wednesday.
What to expect on The Blacklist Season 8, Episode 21
The new episode will air at a special time of 10/9c on Wednesday, June 16. It’s time to get some answers about what’s going on, about what Red has been up to after all this time.
He tells us in the promo to ignore everything we think we know. It’s hard to believe anything we think we know considering we’ve had so many red herrings over the seasons, but it looks like we’re finally getting a few answers to all the secrets.
We see a few events from over the years of things that have happened in the promo, and all these events are in reverse order. We have Katarina’s death, Mr. Kaplan’s death, the fire, and Sam’s death. There’s even a moment that involves Tom. (I’ll admit that was odd seeing Ryan Eggold considering I was just recently watching New Amsterdam‘s Season 3 finale!)
Will we get all the answers? Probably not. After all, we have one episode after this and then there’s a ninth season. But we may finally get something concrete.
The Blacklist Season 8 is available to stream on Hulu to catch up before the new episode.
