Blue Bloods has Reagan family members on opposite sides in Higher Standards. Here’s how to watch Blue Bloods season 10, episode 7 live, on TV and online.

Blue Bloods is creating some family drama this week, so find out how to watch Blue Bloods online or live tonight, as CBS‘ long-running TV crime drama keeps going strong.

In “Higher Standards,” two teenagers assault a pair of rookie patrol cops, and Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is surprised when son Jamie (Will Estes) opposes his handling of the situation.

Elsewhere, Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) has to deal with the accusation that she wrongfully convicted a man in a previous case.

The public perception of cops is a huge hot-button issue in America right now, so it’ll be very interesting to see how Blue Bloods handles the subject. What point of view will the installment ultimately take?

The series has usually presented the police in a favorable light, and stood up for them in tough circumstances. It’s spent the last decade as a show with heroes we can root for and usually believe are doing the right thing.

But viewers have also seen other TV crime dramas, such as Chicago PD, which have shown police officers as people engaging in some pretty questionable behavior. It would seem that the cops were the victims in the “Higher Standards” scenario, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t be in the wrong somehow.

With Jamie and Frank taking on different sides of the argument, Blue Bloods has a chance to dig into this issue and say something thought-provoking in addition to being entertaining.

Here’s how CBS officially describes the episode:

"Jamie and Frank oppose each other’s viewpoints over the public’s treatment of cops after rowdy teens pour water on two rookies. Also, Danny and Baez investigate a man who preys on the elderly, and Erin is forced to admit her wrongdoings when Jack brings her an old case and claims a man she put away was falsely convicted."
