During the Nov. 19 episode of FBI, Maggie was involved in a small fender bender. It led to the guy asking her out. Did she jump the gun on him being a spy?

Maggie Bell got asked out on a date in FBI Season 2, Episode 8. It looked like we could see her moving forward in her dating life after gaining some closure for her husband, but that wasn’t the case. Instead, she assumed he might be dangerous and did a full background check on him. Did she jump the gun?

Considering the case of the week, I’d say not at all. She was after Russian spies, so naturally, she was going to be suspicious of anyone who could have some sort of connection. This guy ran into the back of her after she got a call about the case. While she didn’t know the details at that point, it was clear she was going to start putting two and two together to make five.

But wouldn’t anyone in her position? With Russian spies, the CIA breathing down the FBI’s neck, and this guy’s connection to Russia, it made sense to play things safe. Bringing him in for questioning was actually understandable when everything was stacked up against her in the case.

This is the problem with her job and with espionage. It’s impossible to know who to trust. We’ve seen plenty of crime dramas where people are working undercover to get information. Maggie has done that herself.

There is something suspicious about the guy saying there are red flags from her. It was an honest mistake. And while being detained for three hours wouldn’t have been nice, she could have quickly explained she’d been dealing with a case of espionage without giving away any details of what actually happened. Considering the guy knew she was FBI, most would understand that reasoning, right? He’s the one who jumped the gun in turning her down.

After all, she wasn’t the only one worried. When all the information came back, OA was also concerned. He did question Maggie’s reasoning for the background check at first but saw it warranted with the info they got back.

I don’t think this is the last we’ve seen of the guy who ran into the back of Maggie. And I’m not sure it’s going to be for good reasons.

Next. Did OA put morals or family first on FBI Season 2, Episode 7?. dark
