1. Line of Duty

This is the series with the most episodes on Acorn TV. You’ll probably not get through it all over Thanksgiving weekend, but you’ll get through enough of it. Plus, you won’t regret a second of it.

Created by Bodyguard‘s Jed Mercurio, this is a crime drama that you’ll find yourself engrossed with from the very first scene. It’s beautifully written and expertly crafted, offering a crime drama that is like no other. It was so good that it became BBC Two’s best performing drama in 10 years in the UK. And it is still going.

There are currently five seasons available on Acorn TV right now. You’ll get through a good selection over Thanksgiving weekend since there are only five to six episodes per season.

What’s it about? Well, the group of detectives are tasked with apprehending suspects. Sounds like your standard TV crime drama right? Line of Duty does something different by making the people responsible of crimes members of the force. They’re looking out for the bad cops.

The series starts with Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott joining the team after he refuses to collude in the death of an innocent man. Those who want him to collude are part of the anti-terrorism division. There’s corruption everywhere and Arnott wants to take everyone down.
