8. Keeping Faith

We’re looking at Acorn TV for the next crime drama. Keeping Faith has a mix of crime and legal, and the first season was excellent. It’s no surprise that the show was quickly renewed for a second season. Now we’re waiting to hear about the third.

The problem is this was a show released back in the summer. There’s still not a decision made. It turns out that this may not be a bad thing. It looks like both the BBC and Acorn TV want a third season, but creator Michael Hall has other projects he wants to focus on first.

Final verdict: It’s not quite over for this, but it’s going to be a while before we see the third season.

7. Magnum PI

CBS has plenty of TV crime dramas, but they’re not all going to make it through. Magnum PI is one on my list of TV crime dramas in danger of being canceled in 2020.

The ratings aren’t great. However, it’s worth pointing out that it’s a Friday night show now. Even so, it’s behind Blue Bloods and Hawaii Five-0, which puts the show in danger. CBS is going to want to make room for new TV shows and will want to move others that are underperforming to the slower night. We could see Magnum PI canceled.

Final verdict: I actually think we could see MacGyver end and Magnum PI moved to the midseason. I want to see how the MacGyver ratings do to determine if this is likely, though.
