Charles Michael Davis is joining the cast of NCIS: New Orleans as Special Agent Quentin Carter. Is this the person taking Chris Lasalle’s place on the team?

NCIS: New Orleans will be back soon, and we’re looking ahead at a new character showing up. Charles Michael Davis has landed a role on the series as Special Agent Quentin Carter. Could this be the person to take Chris Lasalle’s empty spot on the team?

Chris Lasalle has been an important member of the NOLA team from the beginning. Absolutely nobody can replace him, but his death has left a spot; a spot that will be filled by someone. That someone could certainly be Davis’ character.

However, it’s not going to be for some time. In fact, I get the sense that we’ll see Pride fight against filling the empty spot at first. It’s going to take something happening where an extra person would have been needed to admit that he needs to fill the gap left. And then, it’s going to take time to allow someone into it permanently.

That someone certainly could be Quentin Carter, who is set to appear in the series in the 15th episode. That’s not until sometime in March 2020, so there’s still some time to build up to and possibly accept that this is going to happen. And I doubt it’s going to happen in just the one episode. We’re going to get to know Carter first.

If you’ve seen Charles Michael Davis in other roles, you know he’s charismatic and he can also steal a scene. He was a standout on The Originals, holding his own up against Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies. We got a villain that made us feel for him, a villain that eventually turned into a protagonist to root for.

He’s also been in Grey’s AnatomyChicago PDand For the People. This is a man who can take a character and bring them to life in full, making you want to know more. There’s no doubt that he’s going to do the same on NCIS: New Orleans if given the chance.

Because I know that Lasalle’s spot will eventually need to be filled, I’m ready to see who will do it. And if it has to be anyone, I’d be happy to see Davis join the series as a regular and this is without knowing anything about his character.
