TV crime dramas to watch this week: Feb. 10 to 16, 2020
Which TV crime dramas should you watch this week? FBI: Most Wanted and Criminal Minds lead our picks for the week of Feb. 10 to Feb. 16, 2020.
With so many TV crime dramas on the air, which ones should you watch and which ones can you skip? Our weekly watchlist will tell you which crime dramas are worth your time this week.
There’s plenty happening during the week of Feb. 10, as the CBS crime dramas are firing on all cylinders, and USA has entered the fray with its Thursday night thriller block, too. We might be technically at midseason, but crime drama fans still have plenty of quality programs to watch!
Here’s what to watch in TV crime dramas this week, along with previews where available:
FBI: Most Wanted features Crosby
In “Invisible” (Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS), FBI spinoff FBI: Most Wanted puts its focus on Ken Crosby (Kellan Lutz) when the team must pursue a veteran with sniper skills.
It’s a two-fold plotline—one part being the case of the week and dealing with the suspect’s Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome condition, and the other part being the nerve that the case strikes in Crosby. TV crime drama viewers have seen him be glib and funny at times this season, but he also has some issues to work through, and this plotline is just going to exacerbate them. Hopefully we can learn more about him without putting him through too much trauma!
Be sure you also check out Precinct TV’s interview with Kellan Lutz to find out what drew him to signing up for FBI: Most Wanted.
Criminal Minds hints at Emily and J.J’s futures?
Criminal Minds has been indicating that at least one character will be departing the BAU before the hit crime drama finishes its final season. The next episode “Family Ties” (Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS) could be very revealing in that sense!
CBS’s official synopsis says that both Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) and J.J. Jareau (A.J. Cook) will have decisions to make about their futures by the end of the episode. Will one or both of them end up leaving? If so, hopefully it wouldn’t be an immediate departure, because obviously fans want to see both characters in the series finale—which brings us to the other reason this episode means something.
Criminal Minds fans have never forgotten the terrible way that A.J. Cook and Paget Brewster were originally dropped from the show several seasons ago. It’s one of the all-time worst decisions ever made on a TV series. So viewers will definitely be looking for them to get a better exit this time around, and if this script treats one or both of them terribly, it’s going to make a lot of fans upset all over again (understandably so). Could “Family Ties” set up Prentiss and J.J. for a proper sendoff this time?
The Sinner continues
If you missed the premiere of USA’s The Sinner last week, you still have time to jump on board. And you should, because this is the best season that this show has ever had.
“Part II” (Thursday, Feb. 13 at 9:00 p.m. on USA) is the second chapter of the new investigation. While Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) starts to dig deeper into what really happened with that grisly car accident, Jamie Burns (Matt Bomer) is already losing his marbles.
And it’s Bomer’s performance that has made this TV crime drama already pop off the screen this season. This is totally different from what you saw him do on USA’s White Collar, and it might be one of his best performances ever. It’s intense, vulnerable, a little dark and a little crazy, and he’s clearly giving it everything he has. Could he wind up with Emmy and Golden Globe nominations the way that Jessica Biel did for season 1?
Check out Precinct TV’s interview with Eddie Martinez for even more on this new season of The Sinner.
