When will NCIS: New Orleans Season 7 start filming?

While many eyes are on when our favorite TV shows will return to our screens, we need to know when they’ll start filming. Dates are still tentative, but it looks like NCIS: New Orleans Season 7 will start filming before the month is out.

According to Deadline, the current plan is for NCIS: New Orleans Season 7 to start filming on Sept. 21. This is a few weeks behind the other NCIS shows, which have both now returned to filming. However, it will be worth the wait and it’s important to ensure everyone is safe.

More from NCIS: New Orleans News

This date isn’t set in stone. It’s going to depend on a number of factors leading up to the date. With many LA shows now returning with safety protocols, there’s hope that the New Orleans-based series can return as scheduled.

When will NCIS: New Orleans Season 7 premiere?

The new season is still part of the CBS line-up. Dates haven’t been set for the premiere just yet, with CBS still waiting to see how filming works out.

The fall shows will return as they can. This could mean staggered starts, which will be interesting to see how winter breaks and finale dates are handled this year. Usually, all shows try to remain on the same schedules.

With a late-September premiere date, we’re probably looking at a last-November premiere date. This is just a rough guess based on the usual two months between the start of filming and the premiere date.

NCIS: New Orleans will include a pandemic storyline

We’ve already reported that the show will include a pandemic storyline. This isn’t to make light of the current health crisis, but to focus the attention on workplaces that couldn’t shut down.

CCH Pounder has shared that a pandemic storyline was necessary. Some of this will reflect on people not wearing a mask when things started and still not following rules around masks now. Her character Loretta works in the morgue, and there will be bodies of those who died from COVID-19 and she’s working short-staffed due to the pandemic.

This will be in the first episode, which will likely be the first one filmed.

NCIS: New Orleans will air Sundays at 10/9c on CBS.
