Chicago PD Season 8: What should we expect from Nicole Ari Parker’s character?
Who will Nicole Ari Parker play on Chicago PD Season 8?
While we’re saying goodbye to Rojas on Chicago PD Season 8, there’s a new cop in town. Nicole Ari Parker has signed on for the season, and we’re taking a look at what to expect from the character.
Deadline reported the news of the new arrival, sharing that Parker’s character is a supporter of police reform. This certainly suggests a systemic racism storyline coming up, which is important to show. Not only does it connect to social events today, but it also continues the storyline set up with the Chicago PD Season 7 finale.

The last we left the team, Atwater had decided he was going to tell the truth. Doyle was killed while profiling based on race. It sets up all of Doyle’s friends ganging together, which means much of the police force against Atwater.
We have to question whether Atwater’s life is in danger. However, it looks like there is hope for change within the CPD on the series.

Nicole Ari Parker will play Samantha Miller on Chicago PD Season 8
Parker will step into the role of Deputy Superintendent Samatha Miller. The Deadline article says that the character is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She’ll come to Chicago to change things up, supporting police reform.
This could be good news for Intelligence, especially for Atwater. However, it is not going to be easy to bring. As we’re seeing in real life, people don’t like change and they definitely don’t like being viewed as racists. There is also the fear of repecussions when good people stand up against bad cops.
However, Miller could cause problems for Voight. While she wants reform, she doesn’t tolerate those who go against the new guidelines. We all know what Voight can be like. There’s a reason he’s a character that has fans of Chicago PD divided. However, Miller is there to make sure he toes the line.
Could this mean a few shakeups in Intelligence? Is she the reason Rojas is leaving? We’ll have to wait and see!
