The actors are heading back to New York for Blue Bloods Season 11 filming

Eyes are on when Blue Bloods Season 11 will return to filming. It’s one of the only TV crime dramas left from the fall still to begin.

The good news is we may be getting one step closer. Vanessa Ray recently shared on her Instagram Stories that she’s back in New York. She probably isn’t the only out-of-towner heading back. As more of the stars on the show make their way back to New York, where Blue Bloods films, it’s a good sign that the cast and crew are getting ready.

More from Blue Bloods News

That doesn’t mean filming is going to start right away despite being given the green light. However, it hints that the show will probably start filming within the next couple of weeks.

When can we expect Blue Bloods Season 11?

So far, CBS hasn’t changed any plans for its shows. While ABC and NBC pushed a couple of fall shows to the midseason, CBS has kept its current plan of a “normal” fall season. Of course, none of the scripted shows have returned yet, but there’s an eye on November for the majority of them.

If Blue Bloods is going to be one of them, it needs to start filming soon. It takes about a week to film one episode. Fortunately, there won’t be too many visual effects, but there will still be some that need to be added in. So, post-production will still take time.

To have enough episodes in the bank ready for a mid- to late-November run, the show needs to start filming by the middle of October. Otherwise, we’re probably looking at a January 2021 date.

As long as the cast and crew are safe, we’ll be happy. However, that doesn’t mean we’re not excited to learn that the show is getting ready to start filming.
