Charles Michael Davis will return to NCIS: New Orleans Season 7
We’ll get more Special Agent Quentin Carter on NCIS: New Orleans Season 7
There are a lot of questions for our favorite TV shows, including who will be part of the seasons when they return. Special Agent Quentin Carter was introduced during NCIS: New Orleans Season 6, and we’ll get more about him during the seventh season.
Charles Michael Davis is set to return as the cocky but dedicated agent. This is a man who isn’t there to make friends. He wants to get the job done, getting justice for the victims and making the world a safer place. However, he’s sure that he’s going to move on in weeks or months to come.
That did raise some questions about Davis returning to NCIS: New Orleans Season 7. Would we find out that he has moved on? TVLine confirms that Davis will return as a series regular. He’s sticking around for some time.
There’s plenty of development opportunities for Quentin Carter
This is a character who has the chance to develop in a large way. Right now, he’s still relatively closed off from the team, but he did help Hannah when it came to dealing with the deputy director. Quentin put Hannah in touch with someone else he knows was sidelined, sure that it was because she was a woman who threatened the deputy director’s authority.

While that didn’t help enough, it showed that Quentin will help his teammates. There’s a side of him that wants justice for the right people.
We also got an important systemic racism episode during Season 6. With some of the cop shows focusing on police reform and systemic racism, it wouldn’t be surprising if another episode came up during NCIS: New Orleans Season 7. Nothing was fully solved at the end of the previous episode, so Quentin’s attitude towards racist cops is still there (and for good reason).
If these types of storylines are done, they need to be done right. This isn’t just about touching on a current social subject but giving the story life. It’s about bringing entertainment as well as awareness. It’s a fine line to walk down.
And we need to see him open up more. There’s a big backstory connected to his Marine past. NCIS: New Orleans Season 7 will have the chance to go into that.
How Carter is managing the pandemic on NCIS: New Orleans
We know there’s a pandemic storyline coming. This is going to give us the focus from Loretta’s point of view, managing the coroner’s office with the influx of deaths and being short-staffed. It would be interesting to see how Carter is dealing with it.
He is health-conscious. He likes standing desks, which means he does put his physical health first. How will he manage a pandemic that has a lot of people ignoring guidelines? What could he do if someone close to him is sick?
While he tries to stay away from making friends, he has proven to be a team player. He steps up when needed, so I get the sense he’ll do that in the pandemic.
