When we last left the Reagans, the Reagan family welcomed a new member to its ranks with the introduction of Joe Hill (Will Hochman), the son of the late Joe Reagan. While the episode was not intended to be the show’s season 10 finale, it was a perfect end note for the show’s tenth season and set up for what promises to be an exciting new season.
After an extended offseason, the Reagan family will finally return to our screens with Blue Bloods season 11 set to kick off in early December! Ahead of the show’s return, take a look at everything we know so far including the season 11 premiere date, cast, synopsis and more!
Blue Bloods season 11 premiere date
Although new seasons of Blue Bloods typically premiere in mid-to-late September 2020 has been an unusual year for Fall TV favorites including CBS’s long-running Friday night fan-favorite! The good news for fans is that the wait for season 11 is nearly over as Blue Bloods season 11 will premiere Friday, Dec. 4 in its usual 10 p.m. timeslot.

Worried about the fates of your favorite Blue Bloods characters heading into season 11? Well fear not as CBS’s hit drama is not currently expected to bid farewell to any members of its core cast this season — well at least to anyone’s knowledge at this time.
Returning for Blue Bloods season 11 are Tom Selleck (Frank Reagan), Donnie Wahlberg (Danny Reagan), Bridget Moynahan (Erin Reagan), Will Estes (Jamie Reagan), Len Cariou (Henry Reagan), Marisa Ramirez (Maria Baez), Vanessa Ray (Eddie Janko) and Sami Gayle (Nicky Reagan-Boyle). Fans should also look forward to getting to better know the newest member of the Reagan family with Will Hochman back as Joe Hill this season.
Blue Bloods season 11 premiere synopsis
Like many crime dramas, Blue Bloods season 11 will kick off with a premiere episode that addresses protests against police brutality and the shifting political climate for those on the force. In addition to its topical storylines, the premiere will find Jamie teaming up with his newly discovered nephew to hunt down Danny and Baez after the pair go missing while looking for a killer.
Here’s how CBS officially describes the season premiere, entitled “Triumph Over Trauma,”:
"Amidst a shifting political climate, Frank goes head-to-head with City Council Speaker Regina Thomas (Whoopi Goldberg) over protests against police brutality. Also, Jamie and his nephew, Joe Hill (Will Hochman), work together to locate Danny and Baez when they go missing while searching for a killer, and Eddie steps up to help an abrasive woman find her father’s body after it was misplaced during the outset of the pandemic."
