Who lived and who died in the LA’s Finest Season 1 finale?

Syd and McKenna had no choice in the LA’s Finest Season 1 finale. They needed to go after Carlene without the support of the LAPD. But they were willing to do it for the kids.

At the end of the previous episode, Carlene kidnapped Izzy and Justice. It led to Syd, McKenna, and the Bens doing everything they could to get the kids back and find a way to take Carlene down.

Even Warren got in on the action after getting out of the hospital. We can thank the DEA for that, but he had ulterior motives, of course.

Izzy and Justice are saved just in time

The writing didn’t quite go the way most cop dramas would. Instead of having a showdown with the big villain, who would put the kids’ lives at risk, the showdown with the villain happened on dry land. Meanwhile, Izzy and Justice were trapped on a docked yacht with the goons around.

Izzy and Justice manage to start a fire, which does mean everyone needs to act fast.

It all works out, though. The Bens get to Izzy and Justice while Syd, McKenna, and Joe take care of Carlene. Warren seems to stop McKenna taking Carlene in, but Syd takes care of that. She shoots Warren, which shouldn’t be all that surprising. It’s not like they were on good terms after everything he did as Gabrial Knox.

If it felt like this was over way too soon, that’s because there was a lot more going on in the LA’s Finest Season 1 finale. There was still a good 15 minutes of story to set up what will come in Season 2.

Carlene is in the wind at the end of LA’s Finest Season 1 finale

You see, while Syd and McKenna captured Carlene without killing her, it’s not all over. The DEA set her free with an offer to our suspended cops.

If they keep their mouths shut, they will be reinstated. They all get a do-over.

McKenna isn’t happy about that. She’s angry that the feds get to cover it all up. They get to keep the Gabriel Knox program a secret and Carlene is back out there in the world. But Syd takes the deal. They need their jobs if they want to protect the people in the world.

As annoyed as McKenna is, she has no choice but to agree.

A murder to solve when LA’s Finest returns

It wouldn’t be a finale without some sort of cliffhanger to set up the next season’s story, would it? LA’s Finest Season 1 finale ended with Joe calling Syd. She needs to get to the bar.

Jen has been killed.

Whoever has done it wanted Syd to find out. They’re leaving a message. And we’ll have to wait for the LA’s Finest Season 2 premiere to find out who did it.

Next. Who was the other "dirty cop" on The Rookie Season 3 premiere?. dark
