Malcolm had to face his past trauma on Prodigal Son Season 2, Episode 3. Here are the biggest WTF moments from the episode.

It wasn’t an easy episode for Bright as he headed back to his former boarding school. It wasn’t by choice. Gil wanted him on the case, and it took finding out that it was the headmaster that made him decide to join.

However, he did have to face his past. It wasn’t just about the bullying but about what he almost did in the past. And that’s important in our WTF moments.

While all that happened, Martin Whitly looked for a way to break out of Claremont. Here are the five biggest WTF moments from Prodigal Son Season 2, Episode 3.

Martin escaping on Prodigal Son Season 2, Episode 3

The episode started with Martin Whitly escaping Claremont. He makes it back to his house and announces his return. There was one huge thing that gave this escape away as just a dream: Jessica’s reaction. She was too happy to see him.

In the end, it turned out that it was all a dream that turned into a nightmare. However, it set up the story for Martin on Prodigal Son Season 2, Episode 3. He talks to another inmate about escaping, only to lure the inmate into a trap to steal the Bible with the cloned keycards.

The episode did end with Martin getting what he wanted. When will he attempt his escape?

Bright agreeing on one condition

Bright only agrees to head to the school for one reason. The former headmaster is the victim.

It’s immediately clear that there is a history here, and Malcolm is sure that it’s one of the students who did it. Students would have the motive, but he needs to figure out what that is.

Still, it just shows how long trauma can last. Or how long grudges can last. Malcolm is still a little bitter that he didn’t get to graduate.

Dr. Tanaka nearly becoming a victim

While dealing with the body, Dr. Tanaka can’t help but look at the science equipment. She’s a nerd, and I love that.

She ends up finding a fridge that is only for the physics group. But there isn’t a physics group in the school, and all that’s in the fridge is bottled water. So why would a group of students attack her?

It turns out this is the motive. The bottled water offers a cheat sheet for exams and the headmaster caught the group.

Getting trapped in the book vault

There are a few twists on Prodigal Son Season 2, Episode 3. A teacher blames Malcolm’s dad for his surname getting out, but it turns out that was a lie. So, Malcolm believes the teacher may have been the murderer.

That’s not the case after all. A few truths come out and then the teacher collapses. He’s been poisoned by his own cleaning items. One of the students was the killer after all and traps the two in the book vault in the library.

Malcolm has to risk his life by starting a fire in the airtight vault to set off the fire alarm. Fortunately, Gil is close by to save them, but it was still a close call.

Honesty about the past

Before he sets the fire, Malcolm has the chance to be honest about his past. After a bully locked him in a closet for three days, Malcolm decided to get his own back. He stole the boy’s asthma inhaler and punched him to set off an asthma attack.

However, Malcolm couldn’t go through with it. He’s not a killer like his dad. He chose to save the bully, which did eventually get him expelled but it was still the right thing.
