There’s trouble in town on Walker Season 1, Episode 3. It’s time to breakdown the promo and synopsis to see what to expect on the episode.

Matt Barr guest stars in the all-new episode of Walker. We learned early on that his character was a former friend of Cordell, but he may be on the opposite side of the law now. That certainly seems to be the case when you look at the promo and synopsis.

That’s not all that is going on during the episode. We’ll get more interaction between the siblings, Stella and August. That’s something the show hasn’t offered too much just yet. Even when they’re on the same screen, they tend to be surrounded by so many other people that interactions between them are impossible.

What do the promo and synopsis tell us? Here are my five big takeaways.

August is worried Stella will push their dad away

The promo starts with August questioning whether Stella is trying to push their dad away again. He doesn’t want to lose his dad, but why should someone stick around when they don’t feel wanted?

It looks like August is going to call Stella out for some of her actions. While the show is getting the teen angst balance just right, she will need to change her attitude a little if she wants her dad to stick around. Sometimes it takes a sibling to help change things.

Micki is worried about Walker’s past feelings getting in the way

Micki makes a note that Walker is crossing the line. It’s not clear exactly how, but Micki is concerned about what her partner is going to do when his friend turns up.

She’s been an excellent character so far. Will she be able to help him see through his blindspots.

Bonham knows about his son’s blindspots

Speaking of blindspots, Bonham knows his son has a problem. The past will always cloud Walker’s judgment, and we don’t really need the Walker Season 1, Episode 3 promo and synopsis to tell us that. We’ve already seen it with Emily.

Does Bonham think Hoyt is up to something dodgy? Will he be able to get through to his son?

Walker is willing to do what’s right

There will probably be a moment where Walker doesn’t want to believe his childhood best friend is capable of doing something bad. Then he’ll see through things. During the promo, he gives Hoyt a warning about taking him down.

Will he be able to do it in the end? Is there a chance he’ll let his best friend escape to fight another day?

It looks like we’ve moved on from the Emily mystery

For the first two episodes of the series, Walker has been focused on his wife’s death. A poker chip and her eyes closed were major questions in the investigation for him, but now he has the answers. It turns out the two things were nothing nefarious at all.

Is the Emily mystery over? Is Cordell going to focus on healing and grieving? He needs to, because his family needs him.
