Chris just got some great news, but she’s on a downward spiral. Can she pull herself out of it on SWAT, or is her dream coming to an early end?

It’s not surprising Chris is struggling in her grief. Ericka was more than just a colleague. She was her training buddy and her roommate. The two were close friends, much closer than anyone else on the team.

However, it’s not just the grief that is causing Chris’s downward spiral. Street has a lot to do with it. He told her he loved her long before she was ready to hear it. This declaration of love was more for Street than it was for Chris, and he should have noticed the timing was terrible. It looks like their friendship is on the rocks, but is there a way for them to find their way back to a friendship? Will they end up getting together?

Despite finding out that she won the competition, Chris is on a downward spiral. That’s clear just from the ending to the episode. She sleeps with a guy and doesn’t even give him her name. He doesn’t need her number because it’s not going to happen again.

I’m not here to shame a woman for a one-night stand. This isn’t about that but about the start of a downward spiral. Chris is trying to fill a void, and she’s not going to be able to do that through sex and alcohol.

Could Chris lose her chance to travel the world on SWAT?

Winning the competition means that Chris is getting to travel the world. She’ll join Luca, who is still abroad (although we’d love him back), and will get a chance to inspire many others. Hicks made it clear that it’s not just female officers who will be inspired but all officers who want to push themselves.

However, Chris’s current downward spiral could ruin all that hard work. It’s clear from the promo for the next episode that Tan is worried. Chris isn’t willing to admit that there’s something wrong, even though she knows there is.

My hope is that she doesn’t lose this opportunity. Hopefully, Tan can help her get back on track, opening up about her grief and her feelings. She needs to find someone she can trust to talk to.

I think it’s going to be Street who helps pull her out of this. Now that he’s broken up with Molly, that’s going to be a little easier. However, it was still bad timing and Chris needs a friend not a boyfriend right now.

Next. SWAT reminds us it's about the family we choose. dark
