The FBI franchise is growing with FBI: International. What can we expect from the series and when will it premiere? Here’s what we know so far.

There’s no doubt that FBI: International sounds a little familiar. Remember Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders? The premise is pretty much the same, although it’s not specifically a BAU team that travels the globe.

Instead, the series is set to follow a similar framework to FBI and FBI: Most Wanted. With Dick Wolf’s brand behind it, this could help to see the third installment in the FBI franchise succeed.

So, what do we know about it so far? When will FBI: International even premiere? Let’s take a look at everything so far with updates as they happen.

FBI: International release date

We don’t yet have a premiere date. CBS may follow something similar to FBI: Most Wanted, whose first season premiered midseason rather than in the fall. The second season moved to the fall to pair with its parent show.

This will depend on the plans for NCIS. The new spin-off could be used to help replace the long-running naval series if Mark Harmon decides not to sign on for Season 19. After all, I can’t see the series continuing without him.

Update (May 20, 2021): CBS has made some changes to its schedule for fall 2021, moving NCIS to Mondays. FBI: International will air Tuesdays at 9/8c, sandwiched between FBI and FBI: Most Wanted.

FBI: International cast

There isn’t a cast attached just yet. We just know that the series has been picked up to series by CBS.

The show has been given a series order rather than a pilot order. This is definitely happening and casting will start to be announced soon.

FBI: International synopsis

While there isn’t a full synopsis, we do get an idea of what this FBI spin-off is going to be about. The title of the spin-off certainly gives a lot away.

Per Deadline, the series will follow elite FBI agents who make up the International Division. They travel the world to protect Americans across the globe and take down whoever the criminals are.

FBI: International trailer

It shouldn’t be surprising to hear that there isn’t a trailer just yet. The series has only just been ordered without a pilot. We’ll be sure to share the trailer as soon as it’s released.
