Big Sky Season 2 is officially happening, and ABC has announced when it will return…sort of. It’s getting a night change, and here’s all we know so far.

We got confirmation of the renewal at the start of May, and there’s no doubt that we were excited. Even the news of a change of showrunner doesn’t really faze us. After all, the new showrunner, Elwood Reid, has been involved in some major projects including The Chi and Hawaii Five-0.

David E. Kelley is still going to be an executive producer on the series. There’s no need to worry about a complete change of pace or feel. Get ready for plenty more major deaths when you don’t expect them.

So, what do we know about Big Sky Season 2? Here’s everything so far. There will be updates as we get them.

Big Sky Season 2 premiere date

We start with the confirmation that Big Sky Season 2 will be part of the fall 2021 schedule. TVLine shared the news of ABC’s plans, and it includes a night change for the TV crime drama.

Tuesday is remaining a night for a new show following The Bachelorette. So, that means our leading ladies need to find a new slot. They’ll move to Thursdays after Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy. It is a tricky timeslot, so we’ll want to continue showing our support.

The exact premiere date hasn’t been announced yet. If all goes well, we’re looking at the end of September 2021 as a premiere date.

Big Sky Season 2 cast

The only two people we know are more than likely to return are Katheryn Winnick as Jenny Hoyt and Kylie Bunbury as Cassie Dewell.

We do hope to see more of Jesse James Keitel as Jerrie Kennedy, who has started working at Dewell and Hoyt. However, with the end of Ronald, it’s possible that she’ll decide to move on and pursue her music career.

There will be a new cast attached as we get the next story in the Cassie Dewell books that the show is based on.

Big Sky Season 2 trailer

There isn’t a trailer just yet, which isn’t surprising since the season hasn’t filmed just yet. We’re not expecting a trailer until closer to the premiere date, so July 2021 at the earliest. We’ll be sure to bring it when there is one.

Big Sky Season 2 synopsis

The season is going to focus on another of the Cassie Dewell books. The first story adapted was The Highway and the second was The Bitterroots. There are two more Cassie Dewell books to adapt, and there are plenty of other stories that the writers could choose to tell.
