NCIS Season 19 is happening, but CBS is making a change to when it will air. Here’s what we know about the season so far, including premiere date, cast, and more.

The good news is that we’re getting a 19th season of the popular TV crime drama. However, the show is on the move. After 18 years, it’s not going to start of the Tuesday night crime drama block.

We’re also going to see less of Special Agent Gibbs—and that’s if he’s even going to be a Special Agent anymore. Mark Harmon is stepping back to only be on the show in a limited capacity. And while it’s disappointing, Harmon could have chosen to step away completely and the show could have been canceled.

It’s time to look at what we know about NCIS Season 19 so far. Updates will come as they happen, so you’ll want to bookmark this post.

NCIS Season 19 premiere date

CBS is making some big changes to its fall schedule, including moving NCIS from Tuesdays to Mondays. The network will have an FBI night on Tuesdays, and NCIS is going to air on Mondays at 9/8c. This is straight after the network’s most popular comedies, so nothing too much to worry about.

It will actually act as the lead-in for the new NCIS spin-off, NCIS: Hawaii.

We don’t have an exact premiere date just yet. The fall schedule usually begins during the last week of September.

NCIS Season 19 cast

Mark Harmon will return, but it’s going to be in a limited capacity. We don’t know what that looks like just yet and will depend on the amount he’s willing to be on the series.

David McCallum is likely to remain with the show but also in his limited capacity. This was certainly made easier with Brian Dietzen previously stepping up in a bigger way and becoming a fan favorite.

We also know Maria Bello won’t return. Her character, Jack Sloane, was written out during the 18th season.

We’ll likely see the following return to the series:

  • Sean Murray as Tim McGee
  • Emily Wickersham as Ellie Bishop
  • Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres
  • Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines
  • Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance
  • Brian Dietzen as Jimmy Palmer

We are looking at Katrina Law returning as Jessica Knight. She made a positive impression during NCIS Season 18, Episode 15, and there was always the option of her signing on as a series regular on NCIS Season 19.

NCIS Season 19 trailer

There isn’t a trailer for the season just yet. That’s not surprising considering the show hasn’t started filming yet. We’ll get a trailer closer to the premiere date.

NCIS Season 19 synopsis

At the time of writing this, the NCIS Season 18 finale has’t aired. We don’t know if there’s going to be any sort of cliffhanger or what’s going on with Gibbs’s future with the team.

However, we’ll get plenty of normal cases of the week throughout the 19th season with the personal storylines for each of the characters.

Next. Plenty of movement on the CBS fall 2021 schedule. dark

NCIS is available to stream on Paramount+.
