SWAT Season 5 premiere date, cast, trailer, synopsis, and more
SWAT Season 5 is officially happening, but there are some changes to when it will air. Here’s what we know about the premiere date, cast, and more so far.
The great news is that we’re definitely getting SWAT Season 5. It was one of five shows renewed at the same time by CBS, and there was certainly a lot to celebrate.
CBS has now revealed its fall 2021 schedule, and there are a lot of changes. That includes the night and time the Shemar Moore-led series will air on CBS. Get ready for not just an initial night change but also a night change during the season.
We don’t have all the details just yet. However, this post is worth bookmarking as we’ll update it as the news comes out. Here’s what we do know so far.
SWAT Season 5 premiere date
While there isn’t a premiere date just yet, we do know when the series will air in the fall schedule. SWAT Season 5 is going to premiere on Fridays at 8/7c. This isn’t something to worry about. Friday nights are good for TV crime dramas, with Blue Bloods still one of the most popular shows on the network.
After a few episodes, SWAT will then move to the trickier Sunday night in the post-NCIS: LA timeslot. This is technically the 10/9c timeslot but football often pushes it back.
SWAT Season 5 cast
We shouldn’t expect much change in the cast. The only character we’re concerned about is Jay Harrington’s Deacon. He is currently facing off against racist cops, and there could be a risk to his career and his life because he’s done the right thing in speaking up.
Other than that, we are expecting the main cast to return as normal. One thing we’re definitely happy about is Kenny Johnson definitely returning in full as Luca.
SWAT Season 5 trailer
There isn’t a trailer just yet. That’s not surprising since the season hasn’t started filming yet. The trailer won’t come out until closer to the show premiering, so we’ll bring that as soon as it drops.
SWAT Season 5 synopsis
Likewise, there isn’t a synopsis yet. One thing SWAT has always done is focus on the tensions between the police and the Black community. The show sort of fell away from that during the second and third seasons but picked it back up again during Season 4. We should see more of that during Season 5.
SWAT is available to stream on Paramount+.
