We know that Blue Bloods Season 12 is going to happen. When will it air and who will be part of the new season? Here’s what we know so far.

The good news is that we’re getting a 12th season of Blue Bloods. This isn’t something the production thought at first. When news came of a two-hour season finale, showrunner Kevin Wade thought that this would be it. The finale was written in a way that would work for a series finale if necessary, but it also worked well for a season finale.

That was a good thing considering the series was renewed relatively early on. Work will be underway soon on that 12th season. We already know when it will air in the schedule, but what else do we know about the season?

Admittedly, we don’t have all the information right now about Blue Bloods Season 12. However, we’ll update this post as more information is revealed.

Blue Bloods Season 12 premiere date

Firstly, we know that Blue Bloods is the perfect way to start the weekend. CBS continues to agree with that. The series will remain on Fridays at 10/9c.

When will the premiere date be exactly? That’s not something we know just yet. However, we do believe that the season will look more normal than it has for the last two seasons. There’s a good chance that filming can get started as normal with minimal delays during it, so we should see a premiere around the end of September or start of October in 2021.

Blue Bloods Season 12 cast

There’s no reason to think anyone is going anywhere. The main cast is all going to return, with Tom Selleck in the lead role.

The big question for many is whether Will Hochman will return as Joe Hill. According to TV Insider, he won’t return full-time, but there is a chance that he’ll return in a guest role now and then. That will all depend on schedules and storyline.

Blue Bloods Season 12 trailer

There isn’t a trailer just yet for the season. That’s not going to arrive until closer to the premiere date, so we’ll keep an eye out for that.

Blue Bloods Season 12 synopsis

There isn’t a synopsis for the season either. To be honest, this type of show doesn’t need a season synopsis as it’s a procedural drama, and that’s not changing. We’ll see what the premiere has in store closer to the time.
