NCIS Season 19 release date updates: Is a new season happening? When is it coming out?

NCIS Season 19 is coming to CBS in fall 2021. How much do we know about the season so far? How many episodes will it have, and will it be the final season?

The good news is that we’re getting NCIS Season 19. We know that Mark Harmon will be part of the show, but that he’s there in a limited capacity. As of right now, we don’t know what that means or how many episodes he’s going to appear in. But at least he’s going to be around.

One actor who won’t be around is Emily Wickersham. She left the series with the Season 18 finale, which saw Ellie Bishop head off with Odette on a secret mission after making herself look like a disgraced NCIS agent.

There is a chance Katrina Law will step into Ellie’s shoes as Jessica Knight. We also have reports that Gary Cole is in talks to take on a role on the season. So far, we know little about either, but what do we know? There will be updates to this post as we get them.

How many seasons of NCIS are there?

So far, there are 18 seasons of the series available to stream on Paramount+. The 19th season has been confirmed and is slated to be part of the fall 2021 lineup.

Will there be any more seasons after that? I do think we’re getting close to the end of the show as Mark Harmon wants to step away. He stuck around for Season 19 knowing that leaving would mean hundreds of jobs left.

Is Season 19 of NCIS going to happen?

Yes, the season will happen. The season was confirmed once Harmon signed another contract for a year. He will be around in a limited capacity, but it looks like this spells the beginning of the end of the series.

How many episodes are in NCIS Season 19?

It’s not 100% clear just how many episodes there will be in the season. The 18th season had just 16 episodes, making it one of the shortest seasons going. This was due to the pandemic causing filming delays. We may see the new season shortened due to some filming delays likely as COVID protocols continue on the set.

When is NCIS Season 19 filming?

The show will likely start filming in the summer. NCIS: Hawaii production has already started and it will follow new episodes of NCIS. That suggests that filming on the parent show will start soon.

NCIS Season 19 release date

CBS has confirmed that the series will be part of the fall lineup. It’s moving nights to Mondays at 9/8c, marking the first time in its history that it won’t start the Tuesday night lineup.

We don’t have an exact release date just yet, but we’re looking at the last week of September if filming can start up as normal in the summer.
