Magnum PI Season 4 is definitely happening. It was one of the first CBS shows to be renewed this year. What do we know about it so far?

The 2020–2021 TV schedule didn’t quite work out as normal. Due to filming delays because of the pandemic, Magnum PI Season 3 didn’t get started until late fall. All fall shows on CBS didn’t start until late fall. That led to some late renewals.

The good news is that Magnum PI Season 4 is happening. It was one of the first set of CBS shows to land another season, and that wasn’t all too surprising considering the success of the show on Friday nights.

Now all eyes are on when the fourth season will premiere. What can we expect from the series? Here’s everything we know so far, with updates to come as they happen.

Magnum PI Season 4 premiere date

Magnum PI Season 4 is going to be part of the fall schedule on CBS. That’s already been confirmed, but we don’t have an exact premiere date yet. It will air on Fridays at 9/8c still, and it will likely premiere in late September 2021.

There’s no need to think there will be many filming problems, especially around Hawaii, where there have been some strict protocols for filming.

Magnum PI Season 4 cast

We’re expecting the main characters to return to the series. That is especially the case for Jay Hernandez as Thomas Magnum and Perdita Weeks as Juliet Higgins.

We’re also expecting:

  • Zachary Knighton as Orville “Rick” Wright
  • Amy Hill as Teuila “Kumu” Tuileta
  • Tim Kang as HPD Detective Gordon Katsumoto

We’d love to see some of the Hawaii Five-0 characters to continue appearing throughout the series despite the show being canceled. The following turned up in Season 3 and may turn up in Season 4:

  • Kimee Balmilero as medical examiner Noelani Cunha
  • Dennis Chun as HPD Sergeant Duke Lukela
  • Shawn Mokuahi Garnett as Flippa

Magnum PI Season 4 trailer

There isn’t a trailer just yet. That’s not surprising since filming hasn’t started up yet, but we can expect a trailer sometime in late summer. We’ll be sure to bring it when it arrives.

Magnum PI Season 4 synopsis

The show is going to continue the current setup. This is a procedural drama, which means it’s all about the cases of the week. Magnum and his team will continue to solve crimes and save people.

The seasonal storylines will be linked to the characters’ development.

Magnum PI Seasons 1 to 3 are on Paramount+. Season 4 will premiere in fall 2021 on Fridays at 9/8c.
