NCIS: Hawaii release date updates: Is there a new season? When is it coming out?

NCIS: HAWAIʹI kicked off its first season production at Mokulē‘ia Beach on Oahu with a traditional Hawaiian blessing in honor of its host Hawaiian culture, which was held in line with the series’ overall filming safety protocols. Series stars Vanessa Lachey, Noah Mills, Jason Antoon, Yasmine Al-Bustami and Tori Anderson, as well as the producers and the NCIS: HAWAIʹI crew, participated. Kahu (Officiant) Kordell Kekoa officiated the ceremony, which included traditional royal maile leis, Oli Aloha (welcoming chant), and Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer). In honor of the show’s premiere season, the ceremony centered on the constant motion of the ocean and how the moving ocean waters, driven by the winds and tides, connects the entire planet. We know NCIS: Hawaii is happening. The new series in the NCIS franchise is getting a powerful lead-in, but what do we know about the release so far?

The fourth NCIS series is on its way. CBS picked that up straight to series, bringing us the first NCIS series with a female in charge. Vanessa Lachey takes on that role, and there is a great cast growing around her.

Filming is already underway. CBS even has a premiere date for the season. What else do we know? Will there be more to the story? We’ll be sure to keep this post updated so you know the latest about the series.

Here’s what we do know about NCIS: Hawaii so far.

How many seasons of NCIS: Hawaii are there?

So far, there is only one season of the spin-off series confirmed. This is normal. The show has only just been picked up to series and it hasn’t had a run on CBS yet. It doesn’t mean there will be nothing after it.

Is Season 1 of NCIS: Hawaii going to happen?

Yes, there is going to be a first season of the series. CBS didn’t even see a pilot for the series, picking it straight up to series after canceling NCIS: New Orleans.

How many episodes are in NCIS: Hawaii Season 1?

It’s not clear on the episode count just yet. Usually, first-season shows are picked up for six to 13 episodes, and then CBS will decide if more episodes are worth ordering after the first few episodes air. This show is likely picked up for 13 and we’re expecting the extension to 22 episodes (or close to that depending on pandemic filming delays).

When is NCIS: Hawaii Season 1 filming?

The show is currently filming in Hawaii. It was the first of the NCIS shows to get started, which isn’t surprising. Hawaii has managed to get things under control and allow for filming to happen mostly without a hitch. There are some strict protocols in place, though.

NCIS: Hawaii Season 1 release date

NCIS: Hawaii will premiere on Monday, Sept. 20. It’s taking the 10/9c timeslot.

This could sound like a dangerous timeslot for a new show. However, NCIS is on the move for the first time, taking over the 9/8c timeslot on the same day. That’s a powerful lead-in for the new series.

Next. Two new cast members joining NCIS: Hawaii. dark

NCIS: Hawaii will premiere on CBS on Monday, Sept. 20 at 10/9c. Watch the following day on Paramount+.
