It doesn’t matter if you need something light and humorous or you’re looking for something dark. There are some excellent TV crime dramas to check out throughout September. With the fall comes more TV shows to watch, which can mean missing out on some great shows.

There are a lot of streaming platforms out there. Now is a good time to focus on just a few, getting the best TV crime dramas throughout the month.

Only Murders in the Building

We start with one that premieres in August but has more episodes throughout September. You need something light and comedic at times, and that’s what Only Murders in the Building is. However, there are elements to the story that are more serious, especially when it comes to Selena Gomez and Martin Short’s storylines.

New episodes come on Tuesdays. Was it murder or suicide? Is there a reason to even like Tim Kono? Will Mable’s secrets come out? There are a lot of questions for the episodes throughout the month.

Dead Places

For those who like a supernatural element to their TV crime dramas, ALLBLK is the streamer to turn to. You can also watch the episodes on Sundance Now.

Dead Places follows Will Stone, a London-based paranormal investigator who is in Africa to research the various supernatural creatures and legends. However, he has something else on his mind. Can he solve the mystery behind his sister’s murder after so many years?

Kin

Watching crime families hit rock bottom and try to work their way back up is always entertaining. We like to see how far they’re willing to go, and whether family can even trust each other. Kin is coming to AMC+ and focuses on an Irish crime family.

The family finds itself in the middle of a gang war. After the death of one of their own, they’ll need to stick together or else they risk losing everything. Can they do it or will the hidden secrets threaten to ruin everything?

The Women and the Murderer

For those who love true crime, Netflix is the place to turn. The Women and the Murderer is a documentary about an infamous serial killer in Paris in the 1990s, Guy Georges.

The documentary follows the police chief and the mother of one of the murder victims. How do they eventually catch the killer?

Vera

Finally, you’ll want to turn to BritBox for TV crime dramas next month. Vera Season 10 will be available and the long-awaited Season 11 is also going to be released. Season 10 will drop as a binge-watch. The 11th season will air weekly.

During Season 11, Vera returns with her diligent team to solve the various murderous crimes. They’re all complex, meaning everyone needs to bring their A-game against the beautiful backdrop of Northumberland National Park.
