Jane Tennant reports for duty in NCIS: Hawaii trailer

NCIS: HAWAIʹI kicked off its first season production at Mokulē‘ia Beach on Oahu with a traditional Hawaiian blessing in honor of its host Hawaiian culture, which was held in line with the series’ overall filming safety protocols. Series stars Vanessa Lachey, Noah Mills, Jason Antoon, Yasmine Al-Bustami and Tori Anderson, as well as the producers and the NCIS: HAWAIʹI crew, participated. Kahu (Officiant) Kordell Kekoa officiated the ceremony, which included traditional royal maile leis, Oli Aloha (welcoming chant), and Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer). In honor of the show’s premiere season, the ceremony centered on the constant motion of the ocean and how the moving ocean waters, driven by the winds and tides, connects the entire planet. Are you ready to head back to Hawaii? This time it’s for another NCIS series, and Jane Tennant reports for duty in this NCIS: Hawaii trailer.

The fourth NCIS series is on its way, and this one takes us back to Hawaii. So far, it doesn’t look like any Hawaii Five-0 characters are going to turn up, although we’d love to see it happen. With Katrina Law taking on a completely new role in the main NCIS series, it looks like nobody really cares that NCIS and Hawaii Five-0 are in the same universe.

Anyway, there’s always a chance of a character popping up here and there. The trailer doesn’t give any of that away, though. What it does is offer us our first look at Vanessa Lachey as Jane Tennant.

This is the first time an NCIS series will have a female lead. It’s clear that isn’t making Lachey doubt herself. She oozes confidence as Jane.

The trailer is more like a teaser. In 30 seconds, we get a look at Lachey’s character. Jane is not going to let being a woman stand in her way. She makes it clear that she is in charge, and if anyone has a problem with that, they can go through her.

That being said, there’s also a bit of humor. She’s not afraid to put smiles on faces, and she does connect with her team. Just look at the caffeine fix conversation. Hopefully, there’s more of that to come.

Apparently, there’s also a “part of the team” speech she has. She doesn’t have time to go into it, but will we ever hear it on the series?
