We’re just a few episodes into the first season but eyes are already on the future. Will we see NCIS: Hawaii Season 2 happen at CBS?

If there’s one thing we’re not expecting, it’s decisions about the future of shows just yet. We’re only getting into November. There are still a few more months before CBS usually starts looking at renewals and cancellations.

However, that doesn’t stop us predicting what could happen. It doesn’t stop us looking at the potential future for some of our favorite shows, especially the newer ones on the network.

What are the chances of NCIS: Hawaii getting a second season? Let’s take a look at that.

NCIS: Hawaii Season 2 is likely to happen at CBS

We’re sure that CBS is going to make the decision to renew NCIS: Hawaii for Season 2. Just three episodes into the series it was granted a full-season order. This is a great sign for the future of it.

New shows get six to 13 episodes to start. This gives CBS time to see what the live ratings and delayed viewings are like. If they look good, the network can then decide whether to give it a full-season order. Usually that means 22 to 24 episodes, but this pandemic year may be a little different. However, the news is a good sign.

Shows that get the full-season orders tend to end up with second seasons. This is as long as the ratings don’t suddenly take a tumble in the new year.

When we look at the live TV ratings, we’re also convinced that NCIS: Hawaii Season 2 is going to happen. The ratings aren’t as good as we’d like for an NCIS show, but even the flagship series has dipped. The move to Monday nights doesn’t help that.

The series is still performing better than its predecessor, Bull, did in the timeslot. It’s also the 11th most-watched show in the demo out of all CBS shows. That’s out of 19 scripted shows. It’s eighth when you look at the total audience.

We don’t get to see the delayed viewings, but we’re confident in this series.
