There’s no doubt that The Equalizer is one of the best reboots we’ve seen in a long time. We certainly want more new episodes of the series. What’s going on with the schedule tonight, Sunday, Dec. 5?

We have some bad news when it comes to The Equalizer tonight. There isn’t going to be a new episode on CBS tonight, Sunday, Dec. 5.

There won’t even be a rerun on CBS tonight. The network has opted for holiday programming, with The National Christmas Tree Lighting taking place after the football tonight. The 23rd Annual A Home for the Holidays at the Grove follows it, unlike the network opting to put The Equalizer on at a different time as a one-off.

Why isn’t The Equalizer on tonight?

What’s with the lack of new episode? The show is now on its winter break. The episode last week was the fall finale. It wasn’t very well promoted as the fall finale, but it really was the last episode of 2021. If you missed it, you can watch it on Paramount+.

CBS is going into its holiday programming now. This is common this time of year. The live ratings take a huge hit during the holiday season, and CBS won’t want to risk them for the top scripted shows. And The Equalizer is one of the strongest shows on the network.

So, when will the series return? We’re going to get it on Sunday, Jan. 2. It’s one of the first shows on broadcast networks to arrive in 2022. We’re expecting another hiatus in February as NBC will air the Winter Olympics. CBS is opting for Big Brother to air during that time to avoid hits to the live ratings for scripted shows.

What can we expect when it comes to the new episodes? CBS hasn’t shared anything just yet, but we are expecting to see more of Robyn McCall balance her secret life with her personal life. She needs to retain her anonymity, but more and more people are learning about who she is. We’ll hopefully get more about some of the other characters on the series as it’s time to delve deeper into who they are and what makes them tick.

Next. Is The Equalizer Season 3 going to happen?. dark

The Equalizer will return with new episodes on Sunday, Jan. 2 at 8/7c on CBS. Catch up on the series on Paramount+.
