Is a new episode of FBI: International on tonight? (December 21)

"Pilot" -- Special Agent Scott Forrester and his Budapest-based FBI fly team head to Croatia, after Isobel Castille (Alana De La Garza, FBI) enlists their help to capture an American fugitive who escaped to Zagreb with a 14-year-old girl. OA (Zeeko Zaki, FBI) continues with the mission overseas, intent on bringing the fugitive to justice, while Europol agent Katrin Jaeger attempts to help the team secure the necessary support and access from the less-than-cooperative local authorities, in the conclusion of a special three-part crossover event, and the series premiere of FBI: INTERNATIONAL, at a special time, Tuesday, Sept. 21 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. Tuesdays are supposed to be about our three favorite FBI teams with the Fly Team in the middle. Is FBI: International on tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 21?

We have some bad news coming about tonight’s TV schedule. There isn’t a new episode of FBI: International on tonight. In fact, there isn’t a new episode of any of the three shows in the franchise.

We don’t even get a rerun tonight. While CBS is starting off the night with a rerun of FBI, the rest of the night is taking up by the special Adele One Night Only. It’s a second chance to watch the musical performance.

Why isn’t a new episode of FBI: International on tonight?

What’s with the lack of new episode? This is all due to the holiday season. The pandemic is not to blame for this current break.

During Christmas and the New Year, the live TV ratings take a big dip. Rather than risk the expensive scripted shows, the broadcast networks put them on a hiatus until the new year. Some of the hiatuses are longer than others, but CBS tends to bring shows back quickly.

When is FBI: International back with new episodes?

The new episodes will return in January. In fact, this show is among the first to return, with the official date set as Tuesday, Jan. 4. It’ll keep the 9/8c timeslot that is working so well for it.

When the episode returns, there is a character we’re worried about. Tank wasn’t feeling too great in the fall finale, and now we find out that Forrester gets some news about him. He better make it out okay, and this better just be a way to give us the Forrester/Tank backstory that we need.
