We’re getting used to SWAT airing on Sundays, and now we’re ready for a new episode. What’s going on with the schedule this week?

SWAT moved to Sundays this month, and we’re just about getting used to it. So, what’s the deal with this week? There isn’t a new episode of the Shemar Moore series tonight.

The good news is that we will at least get a rerun of the series. It’s time to head back to the Season 5 premiere and see Hondo figure out his next move while helping a family while in Mexico.

Why isn’t there a new episode of SWAT on tonight?

What’s with the lack of new episode? This one has nothing to do with the pandemic. It’s all about the NFL Playoff on NBC. The sporting events draw in such big numbers that there’s no way the networks want to run up against them with scripted shows. You’ll see that all big networks are airing reruns this week.

There are a few other breaks coming up, and it’s one of the bad things about Sunday shows at the start of the year. We have another Playoff game in a couple of weeks, then the Super Bowl and the Winter Olympics.

When will new episodes of SWAT air on CBS?

Do the run of weeks off mean the show isn’t back for a while? Don’t panic! There will be a new episode of SWAT next Sunday, Jan. 23.

There will be new episodes in the weeks between all the different sporting events. Then the show will return to normal at the end of February once the Winter Olympics are done.

These breaks do mean the show has time to film a few more episodes and get ahead of things. That will allow for fewer breaks in the schedule when things return to normal after the Olympics.
