As we get closer to finale dates, eyes are on the futures of our favorite shows. Big Sky is one of them. Is Big Sky canceled or renewed for Season 3?

There is no doubt that our eyes are currently on what networks will decide to do to our favorite shows. Every year, we have to face the cancellations of some great shows. Our eyes are on some off the ABC shows that we love, and Big Sky is definitely one of them.

The series initially got off to a great start. However, Season 2 premiered down, and the show hasn’t been able to recover all that well. It’s not surprising when you consider it moved to Thursdays after Grey’s Anatomy, and that has proven to be a difficult timeslot for all networks for the last few years.

Is Big Sky canceled?

As of writing this, Big Sky is not canceled or renewed for Season 3. ABC is still making some decisions, and it looks like this is one of the bubble shows. Every season there are bubble shows as the networks need to look at the pilots that have filmed to see if they’re worth picking up to series.

It costs more for a first season than other seasons on network TV due to the building of the sets. So, if the live ratings are considered to be all that promising for a new show compared to one that is already running, ABC is going to opt to keep the current shows running. If a pilot is considered to be a safer bet, the networks will cancel bubble shows late and pick up the pilots to series.

We can’t say what’s going to happen with Big Sky, but we are worried about it. According to TV Series Finale, the show is the 12th scripted show out of all 15 on the network in terms of the demo. It does sit in 9th place when it comes to the total audience.

We’ve seen Queens and Promised Land canceled so far. We’re also likely to see A Million Little Things canceled. This could help to just save Big Sky, but it could move to the midseason instead of running in the fall.
