Big Sky Season 3: Who is in the new season?
Big Sky Season 3 has added new cast members to the series. Who will join the series re-titled to Big Sky: Deadly Trails, and who will they play?
Just like the first two seasons, we’re going to see a new story in Big Sky Season 3. The title of the series has even been updated to Big Sky: Deadly Trails. This gives us a hint of the story to come this season, although it’s not clear if it’s based on one of the books in the Cassie Dewell series by C.J. Box.
The new story brings new cast members. Before we get into them, it’s worth noting that J. Anthony Pena, who plays deputy Mo Poppernak, is being upped to series regular. After his loyalty in the second season, that’s not all too surprising. We also previously learned that Jensen Ackles would be upped to series regular, and the trailer shows him and Katheryn Winnick sharing some screentime as they deal with the new case.
6 new cast members in Big Sky Season 3
There are six additions to the story, according to TVLine. Reba McEntire is probably the biggest name joining the series, and she narrates the trailer to make it clear that she is one to watch out for. She’ll play Sunny Brick, who runs an ill-fated wilderness trip that’s sure to pull in Cassie and Jenny.
Henry Ian Cusick, best known for The 100 and MacGyver in recent years, will play Avery. He’s a tech executive who books into the trip with his stepdaughter Emily. The role of Emily hasn’t been announced yet.
Luke Mitchell from Blindspot and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will join the series as Cormac. He is Sunny’s son who helps to lead the outdoor trips.
Then there are Anirudh Pisharody and Madalyn Horcher. They’ll play Luke and Paige, a young New Yorker couple. They head out on Sunny’s trip to celebrate Luke’s birthday.
The sixth new addition is Seth Gabel. He’ll play Walter, a recluse in the Montana wilderness who has an “unpredictable nature.” Is it possible that he’s the person causing problems for the trip-goers, or will he end up facing trouble like the fisherman during the first season?
Big Sky Season 3 will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 10/9c on ABC. Catch up the following day on Hulu.
