FBI Season 5 will be here before we know it. Just how much do we know about the premiere episode? Who is returning? Here are the details we have so far.

There is no doubt that we’re ready to see the New York office back in action. FBI Season 5 will premiere this fall, but we have only a few details so far.

We’re still waiting to see what’s going on with the Season 4 finale. That was delayed due to the Texas school shooting since the show focused on an attack in a school. While the standalone story could be skipped completely, there would have been some character development for some of the individuals that may be necessary for Season 5.

It is possible that the individual elements will be worked into the Season 5 premiere. There needs to be something to give us a hint at what’s going on with Nina on the team right now. How permanent is that going to be?

FBI Season 5 premiere date

We don’t have to wait much longer for the return of the show. FBI Tuesdays will kick off on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. That’s when the FBI Season 5 premiere will air, with International and Most Wanted following on throughout the night.

FBI Season 5 cast

We know that Missy Peregrym will eventually return to the show. She was temporarily written out of the show in the fourth season for maternity leave. Peregrym won’t return to filming until the fall, so we’re looking at November being the earliest we see Maggie back.

This should mean Shantel VanSanten will stick around as Nina Chase for a while. Could we see VanSanten remain around permanently? Her role on For All Mankind has come to an end, so schedules could align.

We should also see the following return:

  • Zeeko Zaki as Omar Adom “O. A.” Zidan
  • Jeremy Sisto as Jubal Valentine
  • Alana de la Garza as Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Isobel Castille
  • John Boyd as Stuart Scola
  • Katherine Renee Turner as Tiffany Wallace

We may also see some of the cast members from International and Most Wanted from time to time as they work together on cases. This could even just be through video chats since the International team is in Europe.

FBI Season 5 promo

There is no promo trailer just yet. We’ll get to see that a little closer to the premiere date, and we are keeping an eye on it dropping.

FBI Season 5 synopsis

As of right now, CBS hasn’t released the synopsis for the first episode. Again, we’re keeping an eye out for it.

The premise of the series is pretty much the same as before. We’ll see the team working together to take down the bad guys in New York City.

There may be some crossovers with the other two shows in the franchise. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but don’t rule anything out.
