Fall TV begins this month, and that includes many of the new shows on various networks. Sadly, East New York is not one of the new arrivals this month.
It’s time for fall TV to get started. That’s the case every September, and we look forward to the rush of content. There are some favorites returning, but we’re also getting some new TV shows to trial.
East New York is one of those new shows on CBS. The bad news is that we won’t get to watch it this month. It’s not on the list of September premieres, but it is a fall series. When will we get to watch it?
When is East New York coming to CBS?
There isn’t much longer to wait for the show. Like The Equalizer, the series just has to hold on an extra week compared to other premieres. Thanks to the Big Brother finale, East New York can’t premiere until Sunday, Oct. 2.
The series is going to take the middle timeslot on Sundays. However, NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 is not going to premiere on the same weekend. That premieres a week later due to the later time for The Equalizer and East New York. Yes, football is preempting the episodes.
So, while the official start time is 9 p.m. ET/PT for this new show, we often see the start preempted on the east coast. That’s going to be the case until February, and it really is something we should be used to by now.
The series follows Regina Haywood, the newly promoted boss of the 74th precinct. She’s in a working-class neighborhood on the edge of Brooklyn, and nobody trusts cops. This is a neighborhood facing gentrification, and they will put up a fight. However, Haywood has family ties in the area, and she wants to make changes that will be good for the people. These changes could also make things safer and easier for the cops.
Of course, everyone is skeptical of her. Well, maybe not everyone. There are some optimists by her side.
East New York premieres on Sunday, Oct. 2 on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
