For over a decade, the Reagans have been protecting and serving the citizens of New York City and welcoming us into their homes for Sunday dinners on Friday nights. Heading into its thirteenth season the show shows no signs of slowing down as Blue Bloods remains one of CBS’s top programs with its loyal fans helping the show to consistently rank as Friday’s most-watched program.
After taking the summer off, the Reagans will soon return as a new season of Blue Bloods is set to kick off this fall; however, unlike many CBS shows returning as part of the 2022-23 fall schedule, the returning crime drama is getting a later start this season.
While many CBS fall programs have already begun their new seasons, Blue Bloods has still been in rerun mode across the first few weeks of the new fall season. This is because CBS has opted to kick off its Friday night programming block a tad late this year, but the good news is that fans won’t have to wait too much longer for new episodes to arrive.
Blue Bloods new season premiere date
When setting its fall schedule, CBS scheduled the Blue Bloods season 13 premiere to air on Friday, Oct. 7 at 10/9c following the season premieres of SWAT and Fire Country. The trio of shows are among the final batch of fall programs kicking off their new seasons in October and we’re sure Blue Bloods fans are counting down the days until the new season begins.
As season 13 opens, fans can expect a few surprise returns as well as more of what we love to see: the Reagans fighting the good fight in hopes of protecting and serving.
In the season’s opening hour, Eddie and Jamie will be teaming up on a domestic violence cast associated with an investigation being led by Danny and Baez. Elsewhere in the episode, Jack returns to make Erin a surprising offer connected to her run for District Attorney as Frank accompanies Archbishop Kearns on a unique mission.
Blue Bloods Season 13 premieres on Friday, Oct. 7 at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
