Big Sky season 3 is quickly nearing its conclusion. With the show racing toward the finish line, answers to this season’s biggest mysteries are finally beginning to come to light as the pieces of the puzzle fall into place.

Of course, the biggest mysteries this season have been those connected to the folks at Sunny Day Excursions and the Bleeding Heart Killer. At first, it seemed like there was no connection between the two but the final episodes of the season have seemed to prove this not to be the case. While all signs at first pointed toward Walter being the killer, it seems we might have been looking at the wrong member of the Barnes family.

Then there is the question of how the storyline involving Paige, Avery, Tonya, and Donno will come to a close with the missing millions. With Emily’s life on the line, Beau is sure to stop at nothing to bring her home safely.

Things are quickly coming to a head, but how many more episodes are ahead before the season officially comes to a close?

How many episodes is Big Sky season 3?

While past seasons of Big Sky have been 16-18 episodes, season 3 is set to only consist of 13 episodes in total which makes it the show’s shortest season yet. It’s unclear why ABC opted to go for a shorter season this year, but the shorter format does work well for the series in allowing it to tell a tight mystery across the 13 episodes without a need for any filler stories.

When is the Big Sky season 3 finale?

With just 13 episodes in Big Sky season 3, the third season of ABC’s hit crime drama will come to a close this January with a two-part finale. The first part of the finale airs tonight, Jan. 11, with the season finale coming on Jan. 18 at 10/9c on ABC.

The episode promises to bring a close to the Bleeding Heart Killer case and it seems the Barnes family will finally face the music. Here’s how ABC describes the finale:

"With Denise and Emily’s lives on the line, Jenny and Beau are determined to bring the Bleeding Heart Killer to justice. Sunny makes a fiery decision that will change her family forever."
