NBC’s Found has gone missing from the planned midseason schedule. After being promoted for some time, the series will not be airing in a few weeks after all. As part of a reshuffling of their schedule, the network has moved the new crime drama from its planned Feb. 19 premiere to the fall.

Originally, the drama was to begin a new Sunday lineup that would have included The Blacklist and the revival of Magnum P.I. which NBC saved after it was canceled by CBS.

However, NBC has now decided to hold the series for the fall. In a statement, Susan Rovner, chairman of entertainment content NBC Universal television and streaming, explained the change.

"“After watching the first few episodes of ‘Found,’ it quickly became clear that our love for this show has continued to grow and grow with each step of the process. Our goal is always to find the absolute best home for all our series, and it’s particularly the case with one as important as this. By moving it to fall, we’re able to better leverage our resources, including lead-in and marketing muscle, enabling us to launch ‘Found’ to the largest possible audience across all our platforms.”"

There is no premiere date set for Found, yet the sudden change isn’t unprecedented. Fox had initially scheduled the country music drama Monarch for January 2022, only to bump it to the fall (the series has since been canceled).

What is Found about?

Per NBC’s official description:

"“The premise of Found is chilling, shining a spotlight on the harrowing statistic that in any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. Of these reported cases, more than half of the missing people are people of color, too easily neglected by the system. Shanola Hampton stars as Gabi Mosely, a former missing person herself, who now specializes in PR and leads a crisis management team that seeks out these missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, Mosely is hiding a dark secret of her own.”"

The series co-stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi. Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Sonay Hoffman, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, and Lindsay Dunn executive produce. Berlanti Productions and Rock My Soul Productions produce with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television.

The new schedule now means Magnum P.I. will have a two-hour premiere on Feb. 19 and The Blacklist now moves to 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. So NBC now has a nearly completed season of Found to air in the fall even if the show is missing from the promised spring lineup.
