As a mother, my heart went out to Kendall in Accused Episode 4. What happened to him by the end of the episode? Was he found guilty or not guilty?

Kendall did something that almost every parent would do after their child was sexually assaulted. He bombarded the detective with texts and calls to find out how the investigation was going. When that went nowhere, he ended up taking matters into his own hands.

However, he didn’t do this on his own accord. His friends pushed him into the decision. Of course, they didn’t hold a gun to his head and make him do it, but the peer pressure and feeling of failing his little girl was enough. He wasn’t the only one involved, but when his friends feared that he would turn them in, they did it to him first.

Was Kendall found guilty on Accused?

We’re left to believe that Kendall was found guilty in the end. It didn’t help that in the courtroom, he had an outburst where he threatened to kill one of his “friends” on the stand. That was never going to look good or make him look innocent.

Detective Douglas knew that Kendall was involved from the beginning, and I don’t think he really blamed Kendall for what he did. However, he wanted to help Kendall clear his name. Sadly, his hands were tied when Kendall’s friends turned on Kendall first.

At the end of the episode, Douglas goes to see Kendall and shares that he didn’t believe Kendall was the one to instigate the attack. He didn’t think Kendall would have attacked the man who sexually assaulted his daughter if it wasn’t for the other two. He believes that the “friends” lied on the stand, and he would do what he could to help Kendall after this.

Why would Douglas care? Well, it turns out that Douglas turned his back on getting someone justice in the past, and that decision has always haunted him. He wants to be a better cop, and that’s what helping Kendall will do.

We won’t get to see how all that plays out. All we can do is hope that karma comes for Kendall’s so-called friends.

I did feel like this was the more predictable of the storylines so far. It was easy to see what Kendall did, why he ended up being the one arrested, and how it was all going to play out in the end. The message is still strong, but it was the most disappointing when it came to twists and turns in the story.
