True Lies premiere date, cast, synopsis, trailer, and more
CBS is about to unleash an exciting new TV series in True Lies. This adaptation of the 1994 James Cameron movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis promises to have some of the same exciting thrills alongside a fun romantic dynamic.
There isn’t long left to wait for the new CBS spy drama. Not sure if this is a series for you. Take a look at everything we know about it. The series premieres on Wednesday, March 1 at 10/9c and will take over the Wednesday night slot for the time being. This is a tricky time slot, so we need to watch live to prove we want more.
True Lies cast
Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga star in the series as Harry and Helen Trasker. The cast also includes Omar Miller as Albert “Gib” Gibson, Harry’s partner and tech expert. Beverly D’Angelo plays Captain Spencer Trilby (played by Charlton Heston in the movie), the head of Omega Sector. Mike O’Gorman is Luther and Erica Hernandez plays Maria, both fellow Omega Sector agents. The trailer also shows Keith David and, in a fun cameo, Tom Arnold, who starred in the original movie.

True Lies synopsis
The pilot follows the plotline of the 1994 smash hit film. For 17 years, Helen Trasker (Ginger Gonzaga) has been happily married to Harry (Steve Howey), a computer salesman who Helen considers a great guy but a bit boring. They’ve settled into a stable suburban life raising daughter Dana (Anabella Didion) and son Jake (Lucas Jaye).
Helen becomes suspicious of Harry’s behavior and is worried he’s having an affair. He claims he’s been planning a trip to Paris and takes her there. But when they’re attacked in a restaurant and Harry shows some amazing skills fighting the assailants off, he’s forced to confess the truth: For the last two decades, he’s been a secret agent for Omega Sector, a top-secret intelligence branch of the U.S. government.
Helen is naturally rocked that her husband has been lying to her all these years but soon insists on taking part with her surprisingly good athletic skills. Soon, husband and wife are going around the world as secret agents, while keeping their kids (who are babysat by a retired operative) in the dark about how they really spend their weekends.
With international locales, wild action, and the banter of its leads, True Lies is set to follow in the footsteps of the movie as a fun action romance that can be a good spring success for CBS.
