Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Walker Season 3, Episode 13
Walker just revealed who’s been running the dangerous Grey Flag group. And it’s the last person anyone expected, putting the Rangers into major trouble.
For the last few episodes, the Rangers have been investigating Grey Flag, the militia group that kidnapped Cordell and Liam at the start of the season. Walker and Cassie were surprised to discover that Trey’s supposed firing from the Rangers was actually a plan to have him infiltrate them.
Trey was given a test run by Grey Flag, which involved watching operative Lana on a deal. It ended with Lana being shot and Cassie aiding Trey saving her life. That won Trey more favor with Grey Flag.
In the latest episode, Trey and Lana were being put through training for some sort of operation. Lana had her suspicions about Trey, remembering someone helping him save her. She revealed she had been recruited by Grey Flag, believing in them as a just cause, only to realize how corrupt they were. She was afraid if she ran, they would kill her and her family.
Trey convinced Lana to try and escape and she made her way through a hole in the fence. Trey shot a pursuing guard before telling Lana where to find the other Rangers. Trey was then forced to let that guard die to keep his own secret, telling his bosses Lana killed him.
Lana made her way to the Rangers’ safehouse to relate what was going on, telling them that the leader of Grey Flag was on his way there. Meanwhile, Walker tracked down his old commanding officer, convinced he was in league with Grey Flag, only for the man to leave Walker for dead while denying it.
The shocking leader of Grey Flag on Walker is…
Acting off Lana’s tip, Cassie and James made their way to the Grey Flag compound, impressed by how powerful the setup was. They watched as a set of trucks arrived, the main one opening, and to their shock, saw the leader of Grey Flag was none other than Kevin Golden.
Trey was just as stunned as Kevin welcomed him to the team with promises they would change everything. On the hilltop, Cassie was horrified to realize the guy she’d begun falling for was a domestic terrorist.
It’s now clear almost everything Kevin has been doing since he debuted has been to find out how much the Rangers knew about Grey Flag. That included befriending Cordell and Cassie and aiding the Walkers with their financial issues. It also explains how Grey Flag has been a step ahead as Kevin has been cluing them into the investigations.
For the Rangers, going after the Mayor’s chief of staff can be dangerous and they have to be careful not to spook Kevin until they have full evidence. Walker is on a break until March 23, which gives fans a chance to absorb this shocking twist of who the real villain of this season has been.
