FOX has made a couple of decisions when it comes to its current shows. Will Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 happen or not?

When Alert: Missing Persons Unit ended in February without a confirmed second season, we worried. Would that mean this show would be a one-and-done? The finale was even set in a way that it would work as a series finale if necessary.

Well, FOX has made some decisions. Two shows have landed a renewal, but is Alert one of them? Surely it would be the 911s first.

Is Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 happening at FOX?

There is some great news for fans of the Dania Ramirez series. Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 2 is officially happening. TVLine reports that it and Accused are the two shows to land renewals so far.

This is somewhat surprising, especially when you consider The Resident is still on the bubble and has likely been canceled. Alert trailed The Resident in the average audience. It is possible that as it’s a newer (and shorter) show, it costs a little less to create.

There is no word on how long the second season will be just yet. It may have just 10 episodes again, as it looks like more networks are looking at shorter seasons to help save some money. 10 episodes also allows for more condensed storytelling, especially when it comes to a storyline that has both procedural and serialized elements to it.

The first season brought an end to the mystery about who the young boy was who claimed he was Keith. He wasn’t Keith at all, which means the boy is still missing. However, Sidney admitted what had happened all those years ago, so now the family will be able to focus their efforts on the lake to find the remains of the real Keith.
