Charlie meets Emma Hill (Catherine Haena Kim), who comes from a powerful political family. They end up sharing a steamy weekend together and soon into a romance. What Charlie doesn’t know is that Emma is a CIA agent investigating Maguire herself. Thus, the con artist and the spy are on an unwitting collision course.
The show has done well balancing Charlie’s con games with the romance with Emma. A recent turn was Charlie discovering Emma was with the CIA, which puts a new twist on the romance.
Since premiering in March, the series has been mostly under the radar but building up a cult audience with its twists, which should play into the upcoming Season 1 finale.

In a recent announcement for dates, ABC revealed The Company You Keep finale will air on Sunday, May 7. This will cap its episode order at 10, which fits for a late spring series. It also fits how other ABC shows will have finales earlier in the month.
There is no word yet on whether the show can gain a renewal. While its ratings have been okay, ABC might want to keep it on as a Sunday night series and try to build on its cult audience. At it stands now, fans can expect an early May exit for The Company You Keep while hoping it continues in the future.
