For 11 episodes, we’ve watched Eileen and Roz figure out who killed Gloria. Will there be more to the Alaska Daily story tonight, Thursday, April 6?

ABC brought an extremely important series to the TGIT lineup. It’s all been about Hilary Swank’s Alaska Daily, a series that follows two reporters investigate a death. This is more than just another death for papers to report on. It’s a murder case that has gone cold with police not bothering to do their job.

This series highlights the failings for the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls across North America. If you don’t think it is a real problem, it’s time for a quick Google search. You’ll soon find out just how bad the issue is. It makes this series all the more important as so few shows touch on this topic.

The bad news is there isn’t going to be a new episode tonight. There won’t be a new episode for (at least) some time.

Is Alaska Daily Season 2 going to happen?

The previous episode was the season finale. That’s why we got confirmation that Toby wasn’t the killer. It was Ezra all along, and Eileen and Roz were able to help get to the bottom of it. Their work wasn’t done, though. It turned out there was a report that authorities had done to help tackle the problems the MMIWG face, but that report was buried. Eileen and Roz managed to make sure it came out.

Now eyes are on when we will see more episodes. The storyline was left open for a second season, but will there be one? ABC is yet to confirm, but things weren’t looking good for the ratings in this series. It is possible it will be canceled due to this, but this is a show that we need to see more of.
