Lucy Tara is supposed to be a main character on NCIS: Hawaii, but she’s been missing for a few episodes this season. Where is Yasmine Al-Bustami? Is she leaving the series?

Lucy is a great character, and we certainly love to see Lucy and Kate make things work. So, why has Lucy been missing for a few episodes this season?

We know at one point, Lucy was offered an exciting opportunity to work on an aircraft carrier. She took up that offer and then she’s been in and out of the show since. Is this a way for the series to write out the character? Will Al-Bustami return to the series?

The real reason Yasmine Al-Bustami isn’t in NCIS: Hawaii all the time

Hello! Magazine shares that Lucy has been missing because actress Yasmine Al-Bustami has been working on other projects. She headed over to the mainland, where she has enjoyed some time with her family as well as performing some other work obligations. It sounds like The Chosen has been a part of that.

It’s not clear just how long these work obligations will continue and whether they will continue into the third season of the series. What we do know is that Lucy will be back for the two-part season finale, which begins on Monday, May 15. The second part of the finale will air a week later on Monday, May 22, and she will be part of that episode, too. It makes sense for her to be around for the final epsiodes of the season.

While it is great that Al-Bustami has been able to do other projects, it certainly leads to a lot of questions for fans. Hopefully, we’ll get more of Lucy Tara (and therefore Lucy and Kate) in NCIS: Hawaii Season 3.

Next. When is the NCIS: Hawaii Season 2 finale on CBS?. dark
