The Law & Order shows are still on a brief break but are preparing to return soon to continue their ride toward their respective season finales.

The Law & Order shows have remained a huge success for NBC as each series earned renewals for the 2023-24 seasons. However, there is a condition as Law & Order: Organized Crime will have only 13 episodes rather than the fuller seasons Law & Order and Special Victims Unit will get.

Another important note was that Kelli Giddish would be returning to SVU as Amanda Rollins. Leaving mid-way through Season 24 to become a college professor, Rollins is supposed to return in the Season 24 finale, now expecting her third child and first with husband Carisi.

When will the Law & Order shows return with new episodes on NBC?

For this week, there will be reruns for all three shows, but they will return on Thursday, April 27 with the promise of some exciting stories to make up for the delay and push the shows toward their finales.

The mothership Law & Order will be first with “Private Lives” as Cosgrove and Shaw investigate a physician’s death, but his politician wife thinks she was the real target. The trial is complicated when a young witness sheds light on the victim’s dirty secrets.

Law & Order: SVU will have “Bend the Law” as the team is in for a shock when a suspect in a case is the husband of Bureau Chief Maxwell (Betty Buckley). Carisi has to be careful not to anger his boss, while Velasco has to track down an old friend for a murder charge.

Finally, Law & Order: Organized Crime has “A Diplomatic Solution,” which brings back Ellen Burstyn as Stabler’s mother. The woman’s health has gotten worse, distracting Stabler just as the team has to protect a UN diplomat from an assassination attempt.

With just one week to go before they return with new episodes, fans can expect Law & Order Thursdays to be back to their old form in no time.
